The Hawks come back to the Phillips Arena to finish a home for home against the Charlotte Hornets. The Hawks were able to hold off the Hornets on Friday in a close win 97-94. All starters ended the game with double digit points. After a sluggish first 2 games, Kent Bazemore emerged and put up a game high 19 points with four 3’s. Dennis Schroder started in place for Kyle Korver, who was held out of the game due to ankle rehab after offseason surgery. Thabo came back after missing Thursday’s game against the Knicks and showed great defensive effort, using his long wingspan to break up and steal passes.

The Hawks had plenty of chances to the seal the victory, but the Hornets continued to fight back and go on multiple runs. New Hornets addition Jeremy Lamb was a bright spot in the game with a pair of 3’s that brought the Hornets back within 5 in the second quarter. The Hawks managed to build the lead up again the 4th, but again the Hornets rallied back and went on a 14-2 run which had them within 2 with a minute left in the game. The Hawks made a series of baskets and multiple defensive stops to finish off the Hornets.

Pregame coverage will began at 1:30 PM and tip off at 2 on Fox SportsSouth. The Hawks will also have play by play action called on the radio locally by 92.9 THE GAME. LETS GO HAWKS!!!!
