The Atlanta Falcons look to build off their amazing Super Bowl run.

As we all know, the Atlanta Falcons ended a great season in horror losing 34-28 in the Super Bowl to the New England Patriots. The problem with the loss was the Falcons were up 25 points in the 3rd quarter. A haunting loss, but more of a motivator to come back 10 times harder and hoist the Lambardi Trophy in February. During the offseason there were some big additions to the defense, offense, and special teams. With the rookies, free agent signings, and coaching changes the Falcons look rejuvenated and locked into the brotherhood.

This past offseason the Falcons parted ways with Eric Weems and Paul Worrilow. Now, they are on the verge of letting go of Cornerback Jalen Collins due to his second suspension for PED use. Atlanta picked up Kansas City Chief Defensive Lineman Dontari Poe, Detroit Lions Special Teams/Receiver Andre Roberts, Seattle Seahawks Fullback Derrick Coleman, and Dallas Defensive End Jack Crawford. In the draft, they got major pickups in UCLA’s Defensive End Takkarist McKinley, LSU’s Linebacker Duke Riley, and San Diego State’s dangerous Corner Damontae kazee. They also acquired Oregon State’s Guard Sean Harlow, Wyoming Running Back Brian Hill, and Eric Saubert Tight End from Drake University. Since training camp has been in, all eyes have been on the rookie pickups and and free agents signees.

The Falcons organization is serious about winning next season and improving the fast paced defense and offense. They offered Dontari Poe two weight clauses if he made a certain weight by training camp and he made weight. With the speed and strength of Dontari Poe, Deion Jones, and Duke Riley the defense seems to be faster, stronger, and more athletic. The Falcons plan to get faster at Linebacker while also on the line for a quicker pass rush with Poe, Crawford, Beasley, and Grady Jarrett. The plan is to have faster linebacking pass coverage and lockdown corners in Trufant, Alford, and Kazee.

On the offensive side of the ball, not much was added besides a extra receiver in Andre Roberts who is excellent on special teams. Also a replacement guard for Chester who retired and a great blocking fullback in Coleman. Not much was needed to be added to the Falcons offense who averaged a league high 32-35 points a game. The domination of Julio Jones, Sanu, Gabriel, Freeman, and Coleman will only make the offense better. There are some wonders about the loss of Kyle Shannon and replacement Steve Sarkisian but many believe the offense will still prevail. MVP Quarterback Matt Ryan looks to get revenge back next season and lead his team to a Super Bowl championship.

The Falcons have finally reached a big time deal with starting Running Back Devonta Freeman on a 5 year $41.25 million dollar deal with a $15 million signing bonus. Matt Ryan and Julio got their contracts at the end of last season so it looks like the fellas are here to stay for a couple of more years of success. The organization signed new coaches to the roster for a defensive and offensive change and added bigger pieces to the puzzle for more speed and strength. The city is excited about the upcoming season and looking forward to another entertaining and winning season for their Atlanta Falcons.

The Brotherhood of the Falcons is like none other. Dan Quinn brought a culture to the city of Atlanta. It is a family bond on and off the field and everyday they go to war together to beat the odds. Many think one different decision in play calling and the Falcons are World Champs. But that is behind the team and they are focused on one main goal, bringing the Lombardi Trophy home to Atlanta. The team will open up a new state of the art stadium, Mercedes Benz Stadium, August 26th against the Arizona Cardinals. It’s a new look for the organization, the team, and the greatest fans on the Earth.
