D. Orlando Ledbetter of the AJC recently had a Q&A with NC State & Falcons DT target Justin Jones at the Senior Bowl. It’s a short interview but a good read that you can find here. The answer I most like is below as it show Jones is a selfless player who wants to learn and improve his game.

Q: What are you hoping to show NFL scouts here at the Senior Bowl?

A: “I just want to show them that I can be a good player and be a good teammate. I’m trying to improve my game and learn from the coaches. I’m trying to learn what they are trying to teach it and trying to learn what the NFL is going to be like in the future.”

Isaiah Wynn and Justin Jones Take Home Practice Awards

Although primarily a tackle in college, Isaiah Wynn from Georgia has practiced as a guard this week at the Senior Bowl. He was awarded the OL of the week during Senior Bowl practice. He hasn’t officially met with the Falcons yet but Dan Quinn and Thomas Dimitroff were watching him pretty intently this week according to multiple sources. He is projected a late 1st to mid 2nd rounder and so I think he is one of the main players the Falcons could take in the draft.

Justin Jones, DT from NC State, was also awarded the best DT in practice. Jones hasn’t officially met with the Falcons like Isaiah Wynn but he is a viable candidate for the Falcons to draft and replace Dontari Poe who looks like he is on his way out.

Deion Jones Talks About the Falcons’ Defense

Deion Jones, at the Pro Bowl, had an interview today with SiriusXM NFL Radio. When he was asked about where this Falcons defense was heading he responded “I feel like the rate we are going and the way guys are buying in the sky is the limit for us to be one of the top defenses. I feel like I can improve on everything in 2018.” Deion is a great player but is correct that he can improve on some things in the offseason such as his ability to blitz periodically and his play recognition ability. He definitely is correct though about how this Falcons defense has the potential to be one of the best defenses in the league next year.

Arthur Blank: Open Letter to The Fans

I know I sound pessimistic but if Arthur is really “Fan-First” I would think he would avoid the PSLs but the lower concessions prices are a good first step.
