AJC’s Lauren Foreman reports that around 12:20AM ET Bembry was pulled over and arrested for going over 70 mph above the speed limit. The police stated a purple dodge charger was cited going 128 mph in a 55 mph zone on I-85 near Buford Highway.
Reports say Bembry was arrested without incident and was taken into custody under reckless driving and speeding.
Brad Rowland reports the Hawks had this to say on the matter:
“We are aware of an incident involving DeAndre’ Bembry earlier this morning. We are still gathering information as it pertains to the situation, and out of respect for the legal process, we will have no further comment at this time.”
Bembry who has been sidelined for more than a month with a left adductor strain was looking to return to action in the coming weeks.
