Atlanta United at Nashville SC Preview

Three months after Atlanta United’s expansion season ended, the Five Stripes start their season in Nashville for a preseason friendly against USL side Nashville SC. A lot of people are projecting Atlanta United to finish near the top of the table and so this season looks to show a lot of promise. We won’t see the full squad as Tito Villalba, Michael Parkhurst, and new signing Franco Escobar are sitting out but we will finally get to see Barco in action!

Atlanta Lineup

It’s official! Barco is starting and so 3 of our 11 signings this offseason are starting. I’m surprised Robinson isn’t starting at CB but Larentowicz instead. Zizzo at RB isn’t a surprise as he is a great backup fullback.

Nashville Lineup

I don’t think United will play as well as many of us believe they will and I expect to see some sloppiness. Nashville is a pretty good USL squad and I think it will be a touch match and we’ll need to work out some kinks. This game is more just a game to get our players fit, gain chemistry, and of course, to stay healthy which Atlanta United did most of the year last year.
