Hawks sign guard Antonius Cleveland to a 10-day contract

The Atlanta Hawks announced today that they have signed guard Antonius Cleveland to a 10-day contract.

Why the unexpected signing? The Hawks currently only have 13 full time players on their current roster after losing Babbitt and Marco at the deadline. In the NBA there is only a two week period when a team can have 13 full time players on the roster. The Hawks had a few options: They could’ve signed Andrew White, or sign a player to a 10-day contract. They chose the latter.

It is doubtful Cleveland will see any playing time during his 10 days as he was sidelined and ultimately waived after suffering a broken ankle and got season ending surgery.

The guard will wear number 0. (An ode to Jeff Teague?)
