3 Up, 3 Down For The Hawks: Week 22

Young players stepping up.

It wasn’t a great week for the Hawks as a team. They had to play 2 playoff teams in the Raptors and Pacers, and it doesn’t get any better for them the rest of the season. Despite the losses, there were of course, some players that stood out and helped the Hawks compete. Let’s take a look at some of the guys that had a good week.

Tyler Dorsey

Is Dorsey looking to be the shooting guard of the Hawks future? He’s continuing to put up good numbers for the team coming off the bench. Dorsey has definitely improved every week since he was put in the rotation. His shooting is more efficient, he’s great at driving the lane, and he has an underrated playmaking ability people are not talking about. Don’t be surprised if we see Dorsey in the starting lineup for good to end the season. Who knows, he really might be the next starting shooting guard for years to come.

Taurean Prince

If you didn’t know by now, Taurean Prince doesn’t like to lose. After his game-winning shot against the Suns, he did slow down a bit the next couple of games. You can still see the effort and work he puts in each and every game despite the dropoff. He finally had something to show for it against the Bulls with a career-high 38 points. To end the season, Prince has given us spurts of what we expected from him all season. We should expect big things to come from him in the future.

Mike Muscala

Moose has played a nice role for the Hawks coming off the bench. Against the Bulls, he had 19 points and shot 5/6 from 3. He also had 12 against the Pacers. Moose has known his role on the team since he’s been drafted, and has done good things for the team. Hopefully, he ends the season on a high note as well.

Isaiah Taylor

After playing some good minutes for the Hawks last week, Taylor saw a big dropoff this week. Even with Delaney out, Taylor was not very effective when on the court. If he wants to win minutes over Delaney when he returns, he is going to have to get it going during the last stretch of the season.

Hawks Fans

Yes, I’m going to give it to some of the fans. Lately, there have been fans seriously rooting for the team to lose. Yes, I get it. The more games the Hawks lose, the better chance we have at a good pick. But don’t get mad because they’re out there doing what they get paid for. Nobody gets paid to lose, and when they win you should be proud they did their best. Come on now guys, we’re better than that.
