Hawks Weekly Flight: Week 22

Another good week for draft standings.

The Hawks are going out bad to end the season, but there are some positives to them losing. First off, the Hawks are still trying to secure a good draft pick. Currently, they have the third worst record, so that’s a good spot to be in. The team with the worst record rarely gets the #1 pick, so the Hawks are good where they’re at. Also, with all the losing, the Hawks are competing hard in all these games. If you’ve watched the Hawks at all this season, you can see that they don’t back down. With Kent Bazemore ruled out for the season, Dorsey has been inserted in the starting lineup. The Hawks also signed a couple of new players to 10-day contracts, and they had a good day as well. Let’s recap the games from this week.

                                 3/13 Vs Oklahoma City L 119-107

The Hawks and Thunder played a close game for the most part. In the beginning, the Hawks definitely had OKC’s number. That’s when Carmelo Anthony came and hit multiple 3s to give them the lead. The Hawks fought back in the 4th and made it close again, but Russell Westbrook was too much for them at the end. Taurean Prince had a good game with 25 points and new addition Damion Lee had 13 points in 17 minutes.

                                      3/15 Vs Charlotte L 129-117

This was definitely the Dwight Howard show. He had 33 points and 12 rebounds, and the Hawks didn’t have an answer for him. Dennis Schroder did have some things to say about his former teammate after the game.

Dwight did have some of his best games against the Hawks this year, but what about the other teams he’s been on?

I don’t know, maybe I’ll just shrug with Dennis on this one too.

                                     3/17 @ Milwaukee L 122-117

This game was somewhat like the Thunder game. A back and forth game, and then the Bucks prevail at the end. Taurean Prince continued his dominance with 38 points. and was probably the only reason the Hawks were still in the game. Sadly, they couldn’t stop the Bucks on offense. Nonetheless, it was still a great game where the Hawks competed.

What’s Up Next

3/20 @ Utah

The Jazz are on a 9 game winning streak and are fighting for a playoff spot. I don’t think they’ll let the Hawks come into their building and beat them. Jazz 109 Hawks 96

3/22 @ Sacremento

Out of all the remaining games the Hawks have, this is the only one they have a good chance of winning. I still don’t expect them to win, but it’ll be close. Kings 99 Hawks 94

3/23 @ Golden State

The Warriors will be missing a couple of their star players in this game. Last week Draymond showed everybody that he doesn’t need 3 all-stars around him to win a game. I expect him to have another good game. Warriors 102-92

3/25 @ Houston

We’ll see how the Hawks fare against the best team in the NBA. Rockets 120 Hawks 95
