ATL UTD 2 Take On USL Champs

Saturday, April 21, 2018 – Louisville City FC

ATL UTD 2’s got their hands full this coming Saturday playing against the 2017 USL Cup Champions, Louisville City FC. ATL UTD 2 stand in 9th place with 1 win and 2 draws in the Eastern Conference of the USL, 1 game behind Louisville City FC, who are currently standing in 1st place of the same conference. Louisville City FC is undefeated and will step on to Coolray Field with  4 consecutive wins. With players like Shaun Francis (Ranked 4th in cross-distribution) and Kyle Smith (ranked 8th in pass distribution), Louisville seems to be ATL UTD 2’s most complete competition of the season so far.

We can expect to host a team that’s embraced a “Tiki-Taka” style of play.

The Tiki-Taka style has been adopted throughout South America and is one that has been embraced by Atlanta United’s first team consisting of quick, short passes and maintaining majority possession.

Momentum of the Match

With both of these teams’ ongoing momentum, the first goal scored can get the wheels rolling for either side, so it’s important that Atlanta cuts off Louisville’s style of play and limit their number of runs up the field. Louisville has had 4 different players score 4 different goals which makes their offense dangerous and unpredictable. Louisville’s quick decision making is something Atlanta can take advantage of by applying pressure and limiting the opposing team’s choices from minute 1.
