Most Anticipated Games Of The 2018 Season

Which games stand out on the Falcons schedule?

The 2018 NFL schedules were released yesterday, and the people are talking. The Falcons have a relatively nice schedule, the game placements work in favor of them. There are definitely some games the fans will be looking forward to, so let’s take a dive into some of the most anticipated ones of the season.

Week 1 @ Philadelphia Eagles

The Falcons get the first shot at taking down the reigning Super Bowl champs, and they can seek revenge for their loss in the playoffs last year. Many may not realize, but the Falcons gave the Eagles the best fight out of all their opponents in the postseason.

The game came down to the final play for the Falcons as they weren’t able to score in the red zone. This game will be huge for the Falcons offense with the Eagles adding on some important pieces to their defense. We also don’t know if Carson Wentz will be ready by Week 1, which could play a big part in the season opener.

Week 5 @ Pittsburgh Steelers

Two of the good teams in their respective conferences face each other this week. Both the Falcons and Steelers offenses are top 10 in the league, and it may be hard for them to stop each other. And even though they won’t go head to head, the Julio Jones vs. Antonio Brown debate will be heard all over that week. These two are arguably the best 2 receivers in the game right now, and whoever can get an edge in that might go home with bragging rights.

Week 11 @ New Orleans Saints

It’s always a battle when these two divisional foes face each other. Last season they split games, each winning on their own field. The Falcons won thanks to an interception by Deion Jones, and the Saints won late in the season as the Falcons couldn’t find a rhythm at all.

They’ll see other in Week 3 this season, but Week 11 is definitely a primetime game. This will be a good game to watch on Thanksgiving Day as these teams go head to head.

Week 13 @ Green Bay Packers

It seems like the Falcons have had the Packers number for the past 2 years now.  In a total of 3 games, the Falcons have won all of them. This time they have to go to Lambeau, which is a hard place to play. The last time the Falcons went to Green Bay, Julio Jones had one of the best games of his career.

This will also be a tough game for the team because of the cold weather. Dome teams relatively struggle outdoors in the cold. Who knows, it might even snow, and I know the Falcons aren’t looking forward to that.

Week 15 vs. Carolina Panthers

This game may have some playoff implications coming down to the last stretch of the season. These two teams faced each other in the last game of the season last year, and the Falcons solidified their spot in the playoffs with the win. With the NFC South being one of the most dangerous divisions in the NFL, every game matters.
