Falcons select Da’Ron Payne in NFL Nation Mock Draft

Tonight, ESPN hosted an NFL Nation Mock Draft with every team’s beat reporter.

Vaughn McClure, the Falcons beat reporter, made the pick for the Falcons:

“The Falcons are just two years removed from a super bowl and of course they rely on the offense led by Matt Ryan and Julio Jones but the defense made a big step last year and became a top 10 defense. We know that Dan Quinn is a defensive-minded coach, in fact under Dan Quinn the Falcons have selected a defensive player in the first round of the last three drafts. The Falcons have a need at defensive tackle so with the 26th overall pick, the Atlanta Falcons select Da’Ron Payne, defensive tackle, Alabama.

This would be an absolutely great pick for the Falcons and Todd Mcshay said it would be a “dream scenario” if Da’Ron Payne fell to 26.

How would you guys feel about this pick? Let us know in the comments or on twitter @BirdsInTheBenz!
