Friction became evident during the 2016-17 season when it was reported that Coach Bud and then GM Wes Wilcox were in disagreement with the future of the roster. Later that year coach Bud was relinquished of his roster duties when Tony Ressler hired Travis Schlenk as GM and President of Basketball Operations.
It is unclear if there is more to this story but be sure to stay with ATLSportsHQ for up to the minute updates and analysis on the coaching search.

Some surprising initial names on the list. Expect that list to grow in the coming days as things become more clear.
Woj also reported that Bud, Schlenk and Ressler met Tuesday to discuss the future and “Mutually decided that is was best for the parties to part ways.”
