While you are sitting there waiting for the NFL season to start up you are missing out on something great. The Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) has been broadcasting amazing talent this season. Players such as Skylar Diggins-Smith, Elena Delle Donne, Breanna Stewart, Dianna Taurasi, and newcomer A’ja Wilson have been tearing it up lately. The WNBA has the parity that a national sports league needs.
If you appreciate the sport down to its very core then you should definitely give the WNBA a try. These women are the best in the world at what they do and prove it on a nightly basis. The following is a video of Skylar Diggins-Smith scoring a career-high 35 points vs the Indiana Fever.
The WNBA may not be a fast paced high scoring league but you can appreciate that these women play the game correctly and will not shy away from showcasing their talent. One could argue that the WNBA has a lot more talent than other leagues because these women have to rely on the fundamentals of basketball instead of cruising by with athleticism.
My favorite WNBA team is the Atlanta Dream. The Atlanta Dream have star forward Angel McCoughtry returning to the lineup after sitting out last season to nurse injuries. McCoughtry is known for her high volume scoring and clutch shots. Now that she has returned the Atlanta Dream look exciting again and hope to return to the playoffs this season.
The Atlanta Dream have players such as Tiffany Hayes, Brittney Sykes, Jessica Breeland, and Elizabeth Williams who bring their A game every night. I implore you to consider choosing the Atlanta Dream as your favorite team in the WNBA as they are one of the more exciting teams in the league. The following video shows you Angel McCoughtry doing what she does best.
We all can help the WNBA expand its league by simply acknowledging its presence. The WNBA is full of exciting talent and I suggest that you take the time out of your day and watch a game or two. Each team has at least one-star player so you will not be missing out on A+ efforts. Pick a team and become a fan today and show our women the love they deserve.
