Today in the A: July 5th, 2018

We recap a disappointing Independence Day for Atlanta sports.

Yankees 6, Braves 2

Atlanta got behind the eight ball early in this game, falling behind 4-0 by the third inning. The Braves did have a few chances to climb back into the game, but no comeback really materialized, and the Yankees won the game 6-2 and the series 2-1. Ozzie Albies led the Braves with three hits on the afternoon.

The Braves will continue this difficult road trip tonight with a contest against the Brewers.

FC Dallas 3, Atlanta United 2

This was, in short, a game that Atlanta United has no excuses for losing. They carried a 2-1 lead into the eightieth minute, before Tesho Akindele scored twice in a ten-minute span to give FC Dallas the victory.

Josef Martínez scored United’s two goals. The club’s next game will come this Saturday in Philadelphia.

Tonight’s Games:

The Braves will look to get back to get back to their winning ways in Milwaukee at 8:10 PM.

The Hawks will continue Utah summer league action against the Jazz at 9:00 PM ET.
