It was a good night for Atlanta Sports fans.
Braves Win 5-1 in Milwaukee
After dropping the first two games at Miller Park, the Braves (50-38) were finally able to get back to their winning ways with a 5-1 win over the Brewers (53-34). Anibal Sanchez tossed 6.2 innings of one run ball while striking out 8 Milwaukee batters to pick up his 5th win of the season. This afternoon, the Braves and Brewers conclude their four game set with a 2:10 first pitch. Sean Newcomb will take the mound looking to preserve a series split for Atlanta.
Also this evening, the All Star rosters will be officially announced and it is widely expected that Ozzie Albies, Freddie Freeman and Markakis will be starters due to your votes!
United Dominate Philly 2-0
After the stunning defeat Wednesday in Dallas, the Five Stripes (20 GP 40 Points 12-4-4) came out and took care of business in Philadelphia (18 GP 21 Points 6-3-9). After a scoreless first half, Josef Martinez was able to open the scoring after a penalty in the box in the 58th minute. It was Josef’s 18th goal of the season as he continues to run away with the Golden Boot race. 18 minutes later Hector Tito Villalba scored an absolute beauty of a goal to seal the deal for Atlanta. The win puts Atlanta back up by 5 points for the Supporters’ Shield as well as 8 points ahead of NYRB (16 GP 32 Points 10-2-4) for 1st on the Eastern Conference Table.

Trae Young, Tyler Dorsey and John Collins Shine
Despite shooting 4-12, Trae Young impressed in his 4th Summer League game. Young showed poise, good command of the game, elite court vision and calmly sunk a couple of 30 footers. John Collins dropped 30 and Tyler Dorsey added 15 points and collected 14 rebounds as the Hawks fell in an entertaining 91-89 contest with the Knicks.
Today the Hawks face Portland and look to build upon the more cohesive effort shown yesterday. The game can be seen on ESPN2 at 5:30.
Dream Host Mercury
This afternoon head down to Georgia Tech and Run with the Dream (8-9) as they take on Turasi, Griner and the rest of the Phoenix Mercury (14-5). Gametime is set for 3PM as the Dream look to get back on track.
