Today in the A: July 9th

Sadly, it is Monday, and to make things worse, there are no games going on for any of our beloved Atlanta sports teams today.

To recap yesterdays performances, the Braves ended their game road trip by dropping their rubber match against the Brewers 10-3. The Braves ended the road trip at 5-5 and are currently tied for the lead in the division with the Phillies. Tomorrow, the Braves will begin a 2 game series with the Blue Jays as they look to finish strong before the All Star Break.

Yesterday, four Braves were named to the National League All Star Team: Freddie Freeman and Nick Markakis were named starters, Ozzie Albies as a reserve, and Mike Foltynewicz’s good work on the mound earned him an All Star roster spot.

To the basketball side of things in Atlanta, the Hawks dropped their 5th Summer League game last night 85-68 to the Blazers. Trae Young didn’t do to much mainly because he left the game early in the first half with a thigh contusion. Young continued to showcase his passing skills and court vision that will work wonders for the Hawks this upcoming season.

Our Atlanta Dream beat the Phoenix Mercury yesterday afternoon 76-70.

Join us again tomorrow as we will discuss what will be going on in the A tomorrow!
