Some late night drama in the basketball world.
Hawks acquire Lin from Nets
It was a late night trade, but the Hawks were involved in a 3- team deal with the Nuggets and Nets. Here are some of the details of the trade from the Hawks side:
In the Jeremy Lin deal, Atlanta sends the Nets the rights to 2016 second-round pick Isaia Cordinier (you'll probably never see him). Atlanta gets a 2025 second-round pick and the right to swap picks with Nets in 2023.

You can see the Hawks are thinking well into the future with the 2025 second round pick. Before getting injured at the beginning of the season, Jeremy Lin was known as a solid point guard around the league. Although much of his “Linsanity” hype has died down, and some of his explosiveness from his Knicks years are behind him, he should still be great addition for the Hawks. This move most likely means that a Dennis Schroder trade is coming soon. I’m sure the Hawks will not keep 3 point guards on the same team.
Hawks lose to Trailblazers in Summer League tourney
The Hawks had a chance to win their 3rd straight game in the Summer League and advance to the next round in the tournament. It looks like they had different plans coming into the game. Trae Young, Tyler Dorsey, and Jaylen Adams all sat out this game. Without Atlanta’s Summer League stars, on paper you would think the Hawks didn’t have a chance of winning the game, but they did come out fighting from the beginning. The game slipped away from them in the end as they didn’t have enough firepower to counter Portland. The Hawks last game will be tonight against the Clippers at 10:30.
Braves take on Diamondbacks before All-Star Break
After an immaculate performance from Ozzie against the Blue Jays, the Braves will be taking on the Diamondbacks at Suntrust Park. Albies is coming off a game where he homered twice to get a 9-5 win against Toronto. The Braves have been up and down recently so the All-Star break couldn’t get here any faster for them.
Atlanta Dream host Indiana Fever
The Dream look to win their 3rd straight game in a row as they face the Fever. Jessica Breland had a GAME last against the Mystics with 23 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 blocks. Angel McCoughtry, Jessica Breeland, Renee Montgomery, and Tiffany Hayes also became the first WNBA foursome in history to have at least 20 points and 5 assists in a single game. It looks like the Dream has got into a rhythm lately and are pushing hard to get to the top of the conference. The last time these two faced each other the Dream won 87-83.
