The punter is still going strong.
1/3 of the “Matt” group on the Falcons, Bosher is a true example of consistency when it comes to his job.
Bosher didn’t have to punt as much as he did in previous seasons. These last 2 years, he has punted 44 and 53 times, respectively. That has to do with how efficient the Falcons offense. When they’re always scoring, Bosher can save his legs for another time. Another reason for the low punts is because of the aggressiveness Dan Quinn shows on 4th down. Next to the Steelers, the Falcons have to be at the top of going for it on 4th down.
Special teams as a whole had a down year last season, including Bosher at times. He got 19 punts inside the 20-yard line, which is the lowest in his career. Special teams should be better this season, so expect Bosher to have a good season as well.
The offense is also going to be much improved, so if you don’t see Bosher out on the field much, just know that’s a good thing.
