“Money” Matt Bryant
They say some people age fine wine. You should automatically think of Matt Bryant when that comparison comes up. Bryant has by far been one of the most consistent Falcons since joining the team. He has won the Falcons multiple games and has made history doing so as well.
In the first game in the Mercedes Benz Stadium, Bryant became the first player in Falcons history to convert 200 field goals. In week 14 against the Saints, Bryant scored his 1,000th point, and his field goal basically sealed the game for the Falcons (next to Deion Jones’ interception). The last game of the regular season was probably Bryant’s most impressive that season, hitting 5 field goals. Those field goals helped the Falcons win the game and clinch a playoff spot.
Of course, Bryant’s success comes off of the Falcons offense. When they had the historic offense in 2016, Bryant had a career-high 56 extra points made and 34 field goals made. With a dropoff in offensive production in 2017, Bryant made 35 extra points but still tied his career high in field goals with 34. That’s what you call aging like fine wine.
It was a priority to re-sign Bryant in the offseason, and now he’ll be here for the next 3 years. Expect to see an even better Bryant this season, and more of this picture:
