Liz Cambrage of the Dallas Wings set a WNBA record when she scored 53 points in a game versus the New York Liberty on Tuesday. Cambrage made 17 of 22 shots from the field including 5 from beyond the arc. Her previous high was 37 points which she set earlier this month versus the Chicago Sky. Cambrage finished today’s game with 53 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 blocks.

The former single-game high in the WNBA was 51 points, set by guard Riquna Williams when she played for the Dallas Wings franchise that was still in Tulsa as the Shock. Liz Cambrage was drafted 2nd overall in the 2011 WNBA draft behind Maya Moore but only played 2 seasons, 2011 and 2013. Cambrage tore her achillies in 2014 but didn’t play in the WNBA from 2015-17. Cambrage returned this season and has quickly become a star.
Look for Liz Cambrage and the Dallas Wings to make some noise this season when the playoffs begin. The Dallas Wings play the Washington Mystics Thursday at 8 PM. The Wings hope to improve upon their 13-9 record but will be in a tough matchup with the Mystics. Mystics star forward Elana Delle Donne is healthy and back in the lineup. Don’t miss out on a battle that should be quite fierce between Liz Cambrage and Elana Delle Donne.
