We recap a day that involved no Atlanta teams in action yet still plenty of headlines.
Julio to report to camp
After revising his 2018 salary, the Falcons announced that star receiver Julio Jones will be reporting to training camp on Thursday. It was previously reported that Jones would be holding out of training camp until his contract was restructured; however, the revised 2018 salary must have been enough to get Julio back out on the field.
NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport reported that the move is cap neutral, meaning that it won’t affect other potential deals.
Falcons extend Quinn, Dimitroff
The Falcons also extended head coach Dan Quinn and GM Thomas Dimitroff for three years.
Both have been successful in their tenures here so far, as Dimitroff has assembled one of the most talented rosters in the league and Quinn has produced a winning season two out of the three years he’s been in Atlanta.
Coming up tonight
The Braves are back in action with a home contest against the Dodgers. First pitch is at 7:35 ET.
