Melo Eyeing Hawks Jersey For Himself

Melo Eyeing Hawks Jersey For Himself:

The trade of Dennis Schröder to Oklahoma City is now official, meaning Carmelo Anthony has officially been traded to Atlanta. However, his time in Atlanta, if any, will be very brief. The Hawks plan to buy him out in the next couple days, meaning Melo will never put on a Hawks jersey. But don’t tell him that…

According to Chris Sheridan of Get More Sports, Carmelo Anthony is currently searching for a Hawks jersey with his name and number 7 on the back of it.

The NBA will more than likely not even attempt to make an Anthony jersey to sell, seeing his time in Atlanta will only last a few days probably. Reports show that the NBA Store won’t even ship out custom jerseys with Melo’s name on the back with his number 7 on it.

Many Hawks fans remember Anthony’s statement back when Danny Ferry was Atlanta’s GM, which makes it a little awkward to see Melo really wanting a Hawks jersey. A few years ago he said no players would want to play in Atlanta, and now it looks like it has backfired a little.

It’s going to be tough for Melo to find a Hawks jersey for himself, but perhaps someone will be able to make a custom jersey for him.
