It was a busy couple of days for Atlanta

The Braves have made a few roster-bolstering trades without giving up any of their prized prospects.

On July 26th, the Braves traded for a familiar face in Jonny Venters, to begin his second stint with the ballclub. Venters was acquired from the Rays has already seen some game action in his return to Atlanta.

Then, on July 29th, the Braves traded for Orioles’ reliever Brad Brach, while giving up international signing bonus slot money. Brach played his first game with the team last night against the Marlins.

Yesterday, Atlanta acquired former all-star outfielder Adam Duvall from the Reds, while giving up Lucas Sims, Matt Wisler, and Preston Tucker.

And today, hours before the MLB’s trade deadline, the Braves acquired right-hander Kevin Gausman from the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for four minor-league prospects. Atlanta also received injured pitcher Darren O’Day from the Orioles, who is signed through next season.

All in all, these moves will add more depth to what is already an impressive roster as the Braves look to get back in the driver’s seat in the NL East.
