Beautiful Night For Sports In Atlanta
Teherán Helps Himself Get The Win With A Solo Shot
With the Braves down 3-0 to the Mets last night, everyone thought it would be another game where Julio Teherán struggled and would get the loss. That however all changed with a 5th inning solo homer hit by….that’s right Julio himself, his first career homer in. It was a beautiful swing and the ball carried to deep left field over the wall.
The Braves fought back thanks to an Inciarte homer in the 7th and an Acuña RBI in the top of the 9th, but the Mets rallied in the 9th to tie the game at 4-4. Nick Markakis then stepped up to the plate, and does what he does best in clutch situations. Another extra base hit, this time being a solo homer, and also being the game winner.
Braves won the game 5-4 and took three out of 4 games from the Mets in New York. The Braves have now won five of their last six games and will travel to Washington for a four game sees against the Nationals, including a double-header on Tuesday.
Atlanta Dream Remain Atop In The East
The Atlanta Dream are red-hot right now winning 11 of their last 13 games, and holding down 1st place in the East at 18-10, tying their best record in franchise history through 28 games.
Last night they beat Maya Moore and the Lynx 86-66 in Minnesota. Tiffany Hayes contributed with 28 points, and Angel McCoughtry had 11 points with 8 rebounds. Bentley also gave the Dream 19 points off the bench.
- It’s a good time to be on the Atlanta Dream right now, as they sit 1.5 games ahead of Washington with 6 games to go in the season. The Hawks, Braves, Falcons, and United are very exciting to watch, but the Dream are catching many eyes of basketball fans around the country.
