It was a busy Tuesday for Atlanta sports.
Braves split double-header
The Atlanta Braves faced off against the Washington Nationals twice on Tuesday, with each team winning a game.
The afternoon matchup was not a close contest as the Braves fell behind early and lost the game, 8-3. Pitcher Kolby Allard had himself a rough afternoon, allowing four runs and seven hits.
However, the Braves would bounce back in the evening. Although they were trailing 1-0 for the majority of the game, they were able to tie it up in the sixth before a ninth inning triple from Ender Inciarte gave the Braves a 3-1 lead, which ended up becoming the final score.
Nick Markakis lead the team with two hits and Sean Newcomb had a nice game, allowing only one run.
Dream beat Aces
The Dream were also in action Tuesday, picking up a 109-100 victory over the Las Vegas Aces.
Elizabeth Williams and Alex Bentley led the squad with 22 points, while Angel McCoughtry and Tiffany Hayes pitched in 21, giving the team an astounding four twenty point scorers.
The Dream now lead the Eastern Conference by one and a half games.
Coming up tonight
The Braves will continue their series against the Nationals, with first pitch coming at 7:05 PM ET.
