The Hawks begin their 50th season in Atlanta this fall rooted in a deep rebuild.

Our Atlanta Hawks tip off the 2018-19 season with another road trip. Just like last year, the NBA is giving Philips Arena a little extra time to ensure everything is good to go.

After a trip to New York, Memphis and Cleveland, the Hawks finally head home to face the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday, October 24th. It will be the first game in the brand new Philips Arena and pits two of the biggest names in this Rookie class against each other in Trae Young and Luka Doncic. With all the hype surrounding this game, ESPN has decided to pick it up nationally. It’s the Hawks lone National TV appearance of the season. It will be a great opportunity for Atlanta to show off their new digs to the basketball world as well as for Trae Young to make an early statement.

Other can’t miss home games include Golden State on Monday, December 3rd; Orlando on MLK Day, and the LA Lakers on February 12th. Dennis Schroder makes his return with Russel Westbrook and the rest of the OKC Thunder squad on Tuesday, January 15th.

The Hawks also have seven instances of homestands of at least three games as well as only 12 back to backs. The two major west coast road trips occur in mid November and late January to early February. The NBA has really made it a point in the past several years to reduce travel and increase rest in attempts to improve player health.

While not expected to be good this year, there is certainly excitement around the team. October will be here before we know it and here at ATLSportsHQ we will have you covered!
