Touki Toussaint To Make MLB Debut Monday Afternoon

Touki Toussaint (MiLB)

It’s finally Touki Time!!!!

That’s right folks, Touki Time is coming to Atlanta finally! He will be taking the mound at 1:30 against the Marlins, Monday afternoon, the first game a of a double-header.

This is a day I’ve been waiting for since seeing him pitch for Rome in 2016. Touki Toussaint is an electrifying pitcher who has starter material in him. He has improved every year as a pitcher and has well-earned a spot on the Braves major league roster.

Toussaint started 26 games in 2017 including both high-A ball in Florida and Double-A ball in Mississippi, posting a 4.53 ERA. The ERA is decent, nothing too impressive, however, he only gave up 11 homers while striking out 167 batters.

He got the call up to Triple A (Gwinnett) early in the 2018 season going 2-0 with a 2.01 ERA in 5 starts. In those 5 starts, he only walked 13 batters and struck out 32.

He’s never been a top 5 prospect for Atlanta, or really top 10 for that matter. However, he really has come into his own this season and has starter potential written all over him! Remember folks, it’s Touki Time in Atlanta!!!
