2018 Falcons Player Preview: Deadrin Senat

The rookie looks to make a big impact in his first season.

With the departure of both Dontari Poe and Adrian Clayborn, the Falcons needed to find some players to help fill their void. The first step to finding that player was in the draft. There were players like had some potential in the first round, but the Falcons passed on them and drafted Senat in the third round.

With a body built like Grady Jarrett, the Falcons were definitely looking for a piece that could compliment him. Senat was a solid player for the South Florida Bulls as he was known as an active interior defender.

Senat will most likely be sharing snaps with Jack Crawford and Derrick Shelby to start the season. As the season progresses, he may have earned his right to have the starting spot next to Jarrett. Grady would be a nice mentor to Senat coming in to teach him certain things since they’re built the same. Many people thought that Jarrett wouldb\nt thrive in his role because of his height, but he’s now one of the best DT’s in the league.

Senat won’t make a big impact to start the season, so don’t put high expectations on him. He does have the potential to be a breakout player, so look out for him to do some big things as they get deeper into the season.
