The Braves would like to forget about this series, quickly.

Braves blow another 9th inning lead

After a dominating outing, Folty saw it go to waste. For the second time this series, the Braves blew a 9th inning lead and went on to lose. Folty pitched 7 innings of 4 hit shutout ball and Ronald Acuna recorded three hits but Colorado scored 5 runs in the 9th and 10th innings to sink the Braves. It is Atlanta’s 3rd straight loss but they still lead the Phillies by .5 games in the NL East standings. The Braves try to avoid the sweep this afternoon at 1:35.

The Dream close out the regular season in Vegas

After falling to the Phoenix Mercury Friday evening, the Atlanta Dream look to roar into the postseason on a high note. A win or Washington loss would secure the double-bye. Washington faces Minnesota tonight as well. With the playoffs starting next week everyone in Atlanta needs to get down to Georgia Tech and run with the Dream!

Atlanta United faces the Columbus Crew at the Benz

The Five Stripes come into Sunday’s tilt with the Crew well rested. Atlanta hasn’t played since the wild 2-2 draw that left a sour taste in many mouths back on August 4th. There’s still no official word on the availability of Barco who has missed the last 3 games due to suspension. One thing is for sure though, Josef Martinez will be there and with just 2 goals, he will break the all time MLS single season goals record. Atlanta got some help in the Supporter’s Shield standings race yesterday with NYRB drawing and NYCFC losing. A win or draw today would place Atlanta back in first place.

Come back tomorrow and everyday for another edition of Today in the A!
