The Atlanta Dream are going into the final day of the WNBA season as a #2 seed.

The Atlanta Dream have had a miraculous year of up’s and down’s. They started the season with an 8-9 record and since then are 15-3 including an 8 game win streak and a stretch where they won 14 out off 15 games.

Everything was going great for Atlanta, it was a “Dream” season, until star player Angel McCoughtry went down. She got hurt on August 7th against Las Vegas, tearing ligaments in her knee. The season was believed to be over for the Dream, at least that’s what everyone thought, except Atlanta themselves.

McCoughtry is bringing her veteran presence still from the bench along with the great play from multiple players. Noteable players who have stuck out have been Elizabeth Williams, Tiffany Hayes, Jessica Breland, and Renee Montgomery. Along with the excellent coaching from potential Coach of the Year, Nicki Collen.

Going into the final game of the year Atlanta sits atop of the East tied with Washington at 22-11. That record gives them the #2 seed in the playoffs behind Seattle (25-8). Atlanta will clinch the #2 seed and play Maya Moore’s Minnesota Lynx in round 1 with a win tonight against Vegas OR a Washington loss. If Atlanta were to get the #3 seed, they would play LA or Phoenix in round 1.

Atlanta Dream tip off at 6:00pm tonight in Las Vegas. Go Dream!
