Dream Hold Off Aces 93-78 Securing The No. 2 Seed In The WNBA Playoffs

The Atlanta Dream ended off the regular-season with a huge win over the Las Vegas Aces 93-78 Sunday evening to take the No. 2 Seed in the WNBA playoffs.

The entire game was an intense battle between both teams most of the first half the Dream trailed the Aces, but Renee Montgomery stepped up hitting back-to-back 3-pointers allowing Atlanta to go on a 10-0 run. To open the third quarter The Dream went on an 8-2 run the sealed the game in Atlanta’s favor.

Elizabeth Williams finished with 20 points and 7 rebounds, Jessica Breland finished with 16 points and 6 rebounds, Renee Montgomery also finished with 16 points and 9 assists.

The Dream who finished the regular season 23-11 will have byes through the first two single-elimination rounds of the playoffs and will have home-court advantage in the best-of-five semifinals.

Atlanta will play in the semifinals Sunday, August 26 3:00 PM against the winner of Round 2’s matchup between Connecticut and the winner between Dallas and Phoneix.
