This week the Atlanta Braves’ schedule will be featuring Interleague play, a make up game, and a three-game series. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the Braves will play host to the AL East’s third place Tampa Bay Rays. The Rays come in with a surprising 70-61 record and will not be an easy task for the Braves to overcome. Probable pitching matchups for the brief two-game series will be RHP Ryne Stanek going for the Rays and Julio Teheran for the Braves on Tuesday, and TBD for the Rays and Sean Newcomb for the Braves on Wednesday.
On Thursday, the NL Central leading Chicago Cubs, with a 76-53 record, will come to town to play a make up game that was postponed on May 17th. Starting pitchers in that game will be Jose Quintana for the Cubs and Mike Foltynewicz for the Braves.
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday the NL Central’s fourth place Pittsburgh Pirates, with a 64-67 record, will come to town for a three-game series. Pitching matchups for that series will be Jameson Taillon for the Pirates and Anibal Sanchez for the Braves on Friday; Chris Archer for the Pirates and Kevin Gausman for the Braves on Saturday; and the week will finish off with Ivan Nova for the Pirates and Julio Teheran for the Braves.
