In a surprise deal this July the Atlanta Hawks traded for Brooklyn Nets PG Jeremy Lin. The deal at the time really didn’t make much sense since the Hawks already had Dennis Schroder and recently drafted Trae Young and many thought Lin was brought here just to take on salary. Schroder was eventually traded to Oklahoma City and it became apparent that Lin was actually brought here to mentor the rookie point guard in Young. Lin, who missed all last year after rupturing his patella tendon in his right knee looks to rebound from that injury and possibly cash in on one last big contract. Lin comes to the Hawks with career averages of 12 Pts, 2.9 Reb, and 4.5 Ast. If Lin can get his knee back to 100% I feel as if he could give the Hawks 20+ minutes per game, 10-15 points per game, and 3-5 assists per game. One other aspect that Lin brings to Atlanta is his rabid fan base. Everyone knows about Linsanity and the Hawks will benefit from the extra fans that having him on the team brings in. The Lin Hive will be alive and kicking each and every game.
