Falcons Survive MNF, Beat Giants 23-20

The Atlanta Falcons were able to beat the New York Giants on Monday night by a score of 23-20.

The score looks a lot closer than it actually was. In the 4th quarter with about 8 minutes left, the Falcons took a 20-6 lead after Tevin Coleman rushed for a touchdown from the 30 yard line. But the Falcons’ 4th quarter woes continued to show, allowing a touchdown the following possession by the Giants as Barkley was able to punch it in from 2 yards out. Luckily they missed on a 2 point conversion when Beckham Jr dropped the catch.

The Falcons were able to march down on their next drive converting on a couple crucial third downs with the help of Ridley and Hooper getting into field goal range to set up the game winning field goal by Tavecchio, who was just signed this week. With a lead of 23-12 and around 2 minutes left most falcons fans were able to take a breath and feel comfortable.

Unfortunately the Giants were able to get a huge 58 yard pass to Shepard that put em in the red zone. With the help on the DLine preventing Eli from scoring on back to back quarterback sneaks, the giants scored on a pass to Beckham Jr with 5 seconds and it was just too late to make anything happen.

The Falcons have a much needed bye week next week. Hopefully some of these guys are able to use it to get healthy and make a second half run for the playoffs and possibly the division.
