Fields will still need to get a waiver form the NCAA so that he can be eligible to play next year. If not he will have to sit out a year. Here is the statement that Justin Fields posted late Friday night on his Twitter account making the move to Ohio State official.

As far as Georgia is concerned going forward, Jake Fromm will be the starter next year.  He has 2 years of eligibility left but he can go to the NFL after his Junior year. Backing up Fromm will be a freshman 4-star Dwan Mathis who Georgia filpped from Ohio State in the early signing period and former walk-on Stetson Bennett. According to Dawg Nation, the other QB UGA has gotten a commitment from is John Rys Plumlee. He is a 4-star QB from Hattiesburg, MS who has been asked to join the Bulldogs as a Blueshirt which means he won’t enroll until later this summer and then count towards next year’s scholarship.

Another Bulldog who is also transferring is Tight End Luke Ford who is set to transfer from UGA to Illinois he posted to his twitter account.

Ford’s reason to transfer is he wants to be close to his grandparents deteriorating health. So he wants to be closer to home. Luke posted this massage on his Twitter.
