Georgia Tech @ Clemson Preview

Georgia Tech is flying high off a dominating win in the Carrier Dome this past Saturday against Syracuse. The team played their best game of the season on both ends of the floor and AD Gueye and James Banks showed they can be a nightmare for defenses.

Tonight, the Jackets take on a Clemson team that has struggled to put up points since the start of ACC play. The Tigers are scoring just above 54 points a game in their 0-3 start, including a season low of 43 on Saturday against Virginia. That is music to the Yellow Jacket’s ears as the Jackets are one of the best defensive teams and yield the 4th lowest 3 point% in the country at 26.9%.

While Clemson has struggled to score of late, doesn’t mean that they do not have guys that can’t score. Marcquise Reed can flat out fill it up if you let him get hot. He averages about 19 a game and most of his damage comes attacking the rack. It will be a big test for Georgia Tech to keep him under control.

To pull this one out, Georgia Tech will just need to play their game. Keep playing tenacious defense and knock down your open shots and trust your bigs down on the block. Jose Alvarado needs to stay hot as well as he is averaging over 17 points a game in the Jackets 2-1 ACC start.

Tune in tonight at 9:00 on Fox Sports South!
