Georgia Tech hosts struggling Pitt

Georgia Tech is looking to snap their 7 game losing streak against the Pitt Panthers who are currently on a 9 game losing streak. Despite the blowout loss against Florida State last Saturday, the Jackets saw their point guard Jose Alverado look like he was out of his slump. Alverado did score 17 points and made 6 of his 11 shots. However, the rest of the team struggled shooting and finished shooting 27% overall which is a season low for the Jackets.

The Jackets tonight will have a good opportunity to end their losing streak against Pitt, who has struggled even worse than the Jackets have. The key for the Jackets tonight is to not turn over the ball so much. Against Florida State, the Jackets turned the ball over countless times which resulted into many transition points for the Seminoles. The Jackets also need to hit some of their shots. Many reasons for the Jackets struggles this season especially in close games, comes from the Jackets missing shots that should of been made. Look for the Jackets to rely on Freshman forward Kristian Sjolund and freshman guard Michael Devoe to make some of these shots that they need to win tonight. The Jackets will also look to get their big man James Banks III involved, which was something that they could not do against the Seminoles.

If the Jackets can have Alverado have a similar game that he had on Saturday against Florida State, along with getting their shots to fall and keeping the turnovers low then they have a chance. Also look for the Jackets to play better defense tonight, as they struggled against the Noles rebounding and defending the perimeter. Tipoff against Pitt is at 9:00 PM and follow @wreckhavocatl through out the game.
