Georgia Tech added their sixth commit today, as offensive tackle Jordan Williams out of Gainesville, Georgia committed to the Jackets. Williams is 6’6 305 pounds and is a huge get for the Jackets. Williams selected the Jackets over Duke, Indiana, North Carolina State, and many other schools. Williams is also the fourth in state player that has committed to the Jackets. According to one of his coaches tweets, that Williams always wanted to go to Georgia Tech. Now he will be living his dream and will be a big part of Georgia Tech’s offense moving forward.
Based off of his size and his film, Williams is very similar to former Georgia Tech offensive linemen Shamire Devine. Devine was an excellent blocker especially when blocking down field. Williams will fit well with the offense that Jackets plan on running. He is a good down field blocker and in my opinion will only continue to improve as the year goes on. This is the first offensive linemen for the 2020 class, but will definitely not be the last. Williams did impress a lot of people at the Rivals camp and will have another opportunity to do it again in 2 weeks.
Jacket fans should be very excited about Williams as he will try to get a few big targets for Tech to commit. Now with his commitment to the Jackets, Georgia Tech’s 2020 class is number 21 overall according to rivals. Coach Collins and his staff are putting together a fantastic class so far and it will only continue to get better.
