Atlanta look to bounce back at home vs. Montreal

After suffering a stoppage time loss in Toronto with conceding a penalty and missing the tying penalty at the end, United are back home and look to make up for the loss as they take on another Canadian opponent in the Montreal Impact.

All-time when going head to head, United have won 3 out of the 4 times the teams have met, including winning 3 in a row vs. the Impact and they look to keep the streak going with a win at the Benz tonight. Obviously, home field advantage will play a big part in tonight’s match as United have only lost 1 home game this season and that was against F.C. Dallas when United were still trying to identify themselves and find a rhythm to there playing style, now with the 17’s behind the players backs for a full 90 minutes, it will be no easy task for the Impact to try and get out with a result in Atlanta.

Montreal sit at second place in the Eastern Conference Standings with 30 points while Atlanta sit at 5th place with 26 points heading into tonight’s match, but with Montreal playing three more games total then United this season, Atlanta have the chance to take over that spot with a win tonight and help from other sides beating the teams in front of Atlanta in the Eastern Conference Standings like Montreal, D.C. and the Red Bulls.

Montreal are kind of a hot and cold team, they have some impressive victories but also some losses that make you scratch your head. For example they beat teams like Portland and Seattle back to back and go to Red Bull Arena and beat the Red Bulls which is extremely difficult to do for most MLS teams. Then there’s the loss to SKC earlier in the season by a result of 7-1 and a 0-3 home loss to Orlando on the first day of June, so this team is very unpredictable in what kind of performance they will put on matchday. All we want though and what we are focused on is getting another victory and keep the winning streak at home going. VAMOS UNITED!

Tonight’s match will be live on Fox Sports Southeast and ESPN+. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00.
