After the Falcons signed Grady Jarrett to a four-year deal, it was stated that Deion Jones would be the next one to get a deal. On Julio Jones’ Instagram he posted a video of Deion Jones and himself on Arthur Blank’s private jet. Obviously that lead to many fans speculating that both Deion and Julio would get deals done. A few hours later, Deion signs a four-year $57 million extension. He is also guaranteed $34 million. With the Falcons locking up both Jarrett and Deion, they are locking up their young defense which has the potential to lead the Falcons back to the Super Bowl.
Deion was like the majority of the Falcons defensive starters last season as he dealt with injuries which kept him out for half of the season. Even missing half of the season, he still had two interceptions and combined for 53 tackles. With Deion taken care of, expect the Falcons to get a deal done with Julio Jones hopefully before the season starts. For more news and updates on the Falcons, follow @BirdsInTheBenz on twitter.
