This is not Goodbye

With sadness I am announcing that will be decommissioned in the coming days.

With years of hard work and dedication from many writers and contributors, the URL brought a new era of sports coverage in Atlanta sports.

Unfortunately the momentum was unsustainable. Thank you to the dozens of talented writers that have lend a hand to making this site more successful than I ever imagined possible.

From the starting crew of Nate, Garrett, Malik, Daric and others, to the late coming saviors of Bob, Andrew, Reeves and many many more, and E for giving us a shot on air radio; I’d like to thank you for making the dream of having a sports website possible.

The ATLSportsHQ brand is going nowhere.

As Tiger Woods tapped in for par on the 18th hole Sunday at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta and raised his arms you could feel five long years of emotion finally releasing from his body. After being stuck on win 79 for five years and dealing with both personal and health problems, that par putt secured win number 80 and The Tour Championship worth $1.6 million dollars. Tiger finished the tournament -11 and lead the tournament from start to finish posting round scores of 65-68-65-71. Tiger’s popularity was never more evident than holes 16-18 where he had to be escorted through the crowds by Atlanta police just to make it to the next tee box as spectators gathered by the hundreds to catch a glimpse of him on his way to the title. Next up for Tiger will be The Ryder Cup to be played this week in Paris,France.

PGA Tour Championship To Be Played At East Lake Golf Course In Atlanta September 20th-23rd

The PGA Tour’s final tournament of the year The PGA Tour Championship is set to be held September 20th-23rd at East Lake Golf Course in Atlanta.
